(White House: Chris Burns) The US push for a final U.N. Security Council resolution authorizing war featured; details given of President Bush's meeting with papal emissary Cardinal Pio Laghi†† & with US Central Command commander Gen. Tommy Franks. [White House press secretary Ari FLEISCHER†- says there is a history of France & Russia not seeing eye-to-eye with the US.] [Secretary of State Colin POWELL - says Iraq is deceiving & dividing the international community.] The White House message that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein could avoid war by immediately disarming & Bush's phone conversations with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak & the president of Cameroon about the resolution noted.
