(Studio) Supreme Court nominee Sandra Day O'Connor noted meeting with officials today regarding her upcoming confirmation hearings.

(DC) O'Connor's mtgs. with Attorney General William French Smith, Senator Strom Thurmond, Senator Howard Baker, Senator Robert Byrd, Representative Thomas O'Neill, Representative John Rhodes examined. [O'CONNOR - comments on abortion, debutante-like atmosphere.] [THURMOND - doesn't foresee any problems with confirmation.] [BAKER - comments on his height.] [RHODES - compliments O'Connor's attractiveness.] Moral Majority said possibly supporting O'Connor if her views on abortion satisfy Senator Jesse Helms whom she will meet tomorrow.
