(Doha, Qatar: Barbara Starr) Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld’s trip to the Middle East featured; scenes shown of Rumsfeld with Persian Gulf leaders and US Central Command commander Gen. Tommy Franks in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. [RUMSFELD – says the US intends to see that there is a secure environment that allows the Iraqi people to develop a free Iraqi government.] [FRANKS – comments on the US presence in the region.] Franks’s statement that former Iraqi deputy prime minister Tariq Aziz is giving information to the US noted.
