(New York: Jason Carroll) The resignation at the "New York Times" of two top editors, executive editor Howell Raines† & managing editor Gerald Boyd†, in the wake of the plagiarism scandal involving reporter Jayson Blair†, featured; statement from publisher Arthur Sulzberger quoted. ["New York Times" reporter Deborah SONTAG†- hopes we will grow from this.] [Art director Jerelle KRAUS†- calls Raines nasty.] The resignation of star reporter Rick Bragg for using a story mostly written by a staffer noted. ["Kingdom & the Power" author Alex JONES†- says the editors lost the confidence of the staff.] The naming of Joe Lelyveld†† as interim editor noted. ["New York Times" union representative Lena WILLIAMS†- says there will be anxiety until we get the managing editor appointment resolved.] State from Blair that he was on a personal path of destruction noted.
