(New York: Robert Krulwich) The effort in 1939 by President Franklin Roosevelt to move Thanksgiving Day one week earlier reviewed; details given of the response of football coaches, some small merchants & of the confusion when there were was two holidays, Thanksgiving & "Franksgiving," until 1941 when Congress passed a law mandating the last Tuesday in November as Thanksgiving.
