[BUSH - speaks about defending America; states we were right to go into Iraq; repeats {several times} the "American people are safer."] Findings of an ABC News/"Washington Post" poll on the public's disapproval of handling of Iraq cited. [Vice President Dick CHENEY - criticizes the Democrats.] [Senator John KERRY - responds.] The White House plans to use pre-war statements from Kerry-Edwards against them noted.
