(Washington: John King) The findings of the commission investigating the attacks on September 11 on what went wrong featured; details given of the briefing to President Bill Clinton about Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden††, what was known about the hijackers & how FBI & CIA intelligence was not shared. [Commission chairman Thomas KEAN†- says this was a failure of policy, management, capability & imagination.] [Commission members James THOMPSON†, Bob KERREY - comment on failures of intelligence.] The question of whether anyone has been fired for failing to connect the dots in the intelligence failures discussed.

[From Washington, LEHMAN - says the policymakers are beginning to get the urgency of the recommendations; predicts the hardest reforms will be in Congress because it is a systemic change & there are so many baronies in Congress without a coherence to develop policy; states we have the fundamentals of the story.] [From Washington, BEN-VENISTE - comments on the report, the interlocking nature of the recommendations & the oversight.]
