(Hong Kong: Mark Litke) The panic in Sumatra as the earthquake hit featured; scenes shown of people on the move; details given of the impact on Nias Island, of tsunami alerts in the region & of the lack of a tsunami warning system. [In Banda Aceh, ABC's Dina ANTONAIO†- describes what was happening.] Diagram shown of a geological "vertical slip" that could generate a tsunami.
