(New Orleans: Bob Woodruff) The streamlining of the evacuation operation from New Orleans featured; "Times-Picayune" headline "7th Day of Hell" shown; scenes shown of helicopters outside the Convention Center to fly people out, work on the gaps in the levee, St. Bernard Parish, flooded areas & the first morgue outside New Orleans. [Rescue WORKER, WOMAN - comment.] [Police Deputy Chief Warren RILEY†- says the city has been destroyed.] [Jefferson Parish resident Van BOWEN‡, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff Jack STEPHENS†, trucker Grant JONES - comment.] [President BUSH - calls this a long-term project.]
