(Studio) Producer price index reported down. Wholesale inflation predicted to be lowest in 20 years.

(NYC) Econ. watch item presented. Incr. in sales said accompanied by decrease in inflation. [Econ. Peter BERNSTEIN - notes inflation of 1970's is gone.] Decrease in wholesale food prices last month reported. Energy costs said also down. Citgo reported cutting price it pays for crude oil. [BERNSTEIN - says profits good, so increase in prices not foreseeable.] Incr. in employment said accompanying better economy picture.
