(Capitol Hill: Sharyl Attkisson) A complete reform of immigration law as we know it worked out by bipartisan negotiators from the far left and far right examined; details given about elements of the bill for illegal immigrants, future immigrants, farm workers and the opposition to the bill as amnesty and problems in selling it all to Congress. [Senators Edward KENNEDY, Saxby CHAMBLISS, President BUSH - back the agreement.]

(Los Angeles: Sandra Hughes) The view of immigration rights groups that the bill is unfair to uneducated, low-earning illegals examined. [In Los Angeles, illegal domestic worker "SUSIE" - {thru translator} talks about the fear of being deported and the cost of becoming legal.] [CARCEN program director Marvin ANDRADE†- questions the bill.]

(Studio: Katie Couric) Live interview held with Representative James Sensenbrenner about the immigration bill. [SENSENBRENNER - says the bill stinks because it gives liberal amnesty to illegal immigrants; states the devil is in the details with the key to stopping illegal immigration being to throw the book at employers; explains the borders have to be closed to keep out terrorists.]

(Studio: Katie Couric) Report introduced.

(Washington: Bob Orr) The border security issue examined; details given about proposals in the new immigration deal to increase fencing, vehicle barriers etc., about the increase in border agents and the requirements for immigrant workers. [Homeland Security Secretary Michael CHERTOFF - assesses the bill.]
