(Palm Spgs., California) Community's opposition to opening center for victims of acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) examined; films shown. [Hotel owner Fred HARDT - thinks AIDS patients have rights and needs.] Hardt's plans to convert hotel into resort exclusively for AIDS victims described. [HARDT - explains his motive.] [Resident Jeannine LEVITT, Mayor Frank BOGERT - oppose plan.] [HARDT - notes Betty Ford Center hasn't made Rancho Mirage the dope addict and alcoholic center of world.] [BOGERT - will work to halt Hardt's plans.] Fear that center will adversely affect tourism noted.
