(Studio) Death and injury toll from recent collision of Amtrak trains in NYC recalled.
REPORTER: Peter Jennings
(DC) Collision reported attributed to signal operator, according to Amtrak president W. Graham Claytor; traces of marijuana mentioned discovered in signal operator's blood. [Federal railroad Admin. John RILEY - notes cocaine was detected as well although data linking operator's drug usage to collision is insufficient so far; reads transcript of radio conversation between operator and dispatcher.]
