Walters, charges Ehrlichman put him under pressure in summer of 1972 to open investigation of McGovern campaign chairperson, Lawrence O'Brien. Walters says IRS (Internal Revenue Service) had already checked to see if O'Brien had received large sums from Howard Hughes organization, as Ehrlichman suggested. He did not. When Walters refused to interview O'Brien 2nd time, Ehrlichman told Walters he was tired of his foot- dragging tactics.
