Christians resisted PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) and civil war began. PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) and leftist groups gained upper hand at 1st. Lebanese army collapsed. Bus. community fled. Syria encouraged PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) and USSR backed its allies.
