(Studio) Man arrested for shooting, 21-yr.-old Arthur Herman Brener of Milwaukee, WI, held in lieu of $200,000 bail under heavy guard. A psychiatrist who examined him last November, in connection with a concealed weapon charge, says Bremer then was sane with a dull, normal intelligence. He has followed Wallace.

(Wheaton, MD) [WALLACE - blasts busing.] Yesterday, Bremer attended an earlier Wallace rally and was photographed there. Police had questioned him at another in Kalamazoo, Michigan, last Saturday (Laurel, MD) After shooting, yesterday Bremer was pounced on and carried away by police. He was taken to hospital for observation and treatment of head wound received in scuffle. (Baltimore, Maryland) Last night he was taken to Baltimore Federal Court building where bond set at $200,000. He asked for ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) attorney, but ACLU declined today. Federal marshals will help guard him at Baltimore County jail until arraignment next week

In Bremer's apt., police found open box of .38-caliber shells, for pistol he bought January 13. Notes found indicating Bremer expected long period of confinement. No one knows how he maintained $130/mo. apt. and traveled around country, as he had not worked since February [Brother, Theodore BREMER - says he's shy, timid, without nerve to shoot anyone.] [Father, William BREMER - did not know son was even out of city.] [Football coach, South Division High School, William BARTHOLOMEW - remembers Art as extremely fine young man, competitive in athletics but not aggressive in class.] Bremer was a loner.
