(Studio) North Vietnam control Quang Tri Province in north South Vietnam. Pressure placed on Thua Thien Province and its capital, Hue. In Binh Dinh Province, enemy has taken 3 District capitals. New South Vietnam defense line is 20 mile north of Hue on Highway 1. United Press International reports both enemy tanks and troops have reached that line. Another North Vietnam division moves in from west of Hue.

(Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam) Until Quang Tri city fell, South Vietnam Marines tried to keep Highway 1 open. Copters gave support. Tuesday morning, soldiers poured down Highway 1, without leaders South Vietnam officers flown out of Quang Tri city in copters.

Ideal location for North Vietnam to use to draw in South Vietnam, cut them off, and pound them. An Loc has been reduced to rubble by bombing. North Vietnam committed 100 tanks to An Loc battle. Civilians trapped in center of town. Many killed.

IN vote between Wallace and Humphrey; Ohio between McGovern and Humphrey. 170 polling places around Cleveland, Ohio, have difficulty with voting machines. Humphrey forces polling places to stay open late; McGovern calls for those ballots to be impounded.
